Hi! I’m Lauren!

I am a full-time, published photographer with a fine art background photographing people in Louisville, Cincinnati, and Northern Kentucky.

I’m from Louisville, and now live in NKY near Cincinnati (I travel back and forth often, listening to many podcasts and audiobooks!) I studied fine art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and received my BFA in 2013.

The art of images has been a lifelong passion of mine— I studied visual art in high school in addition to my BFA (I basically learned about art and created for 8 years straight). My photographic artwork is heavily influenced by my training in the visual arts and art history.

Lauren is a consummate professional. ... With Lauren, you get magazine level quality with the small business hospitality. She went above and beyond for me. If you’ve been searching for a photographer, look no farther.

Thank you for helping me fall in love with myself again.

You deserve to have beautiful photos; pieces of art to cherish.

Your stories and memories are important— I want to preserve them.

If I could take all my photos barefoot in my garden, I would…

My current hobby is gardening (before that it was dancing), and I am slowly but surely decreasing the amount of grass we have and substituting it with beautiful or edible plants and flowers. I love being outside most of the year, creating pollinator-friendly cottage gardens and learning everything I can about plants!

... If you are on the fence about doing a photoshoot, DO IT, and make sure Lauren is the one you’ve got behind the camera.

cats, coffee, renaissance faires…

These are a few of my favorite things!

Also bourbon, travel, exploring new places, easy hikes
binging Gilmore Girls, reading (audiobooks), tacos

FAQs

Where are you based?
I am based in Kentucky, and I take most of my session bookings in Louisville, Cincinnati, Lexington, and NKY.

Do you travel?
YES! A thousand times yes. I will travel to you or with you for a session or a wedding (some travel fees may apply, especially for overnight travel or long distance driving).

What's your turnaround time for photos?
It will take 6-8 weeks for me to edit and deliver weddings and elopements. I send all my wedding/elopement couples sneak peeks ASAP so you get to see some right away! For other sessions (couples/engagements, boudoir, etc), I will schedule an image reveal appointment via Zoom for clients to pick out the images included in their session package, and order anything additional!

"We're really awkward in photos..."
Literally everyone is really awkward in photos! I have folks worry about being stiff and awkward, and then they end up having the most natural photos ever! I can use pose prompts if we need them, and I won't force you to do any poses that make you uncomfortable. Trust that I'm going to be way more awkward than you are!

What should we wear to our session?
Everyone's got a different style or vibe-- my typical advice is try not to match too much: one person could wear a pattern while the other wears solid colors, and don't wear exactly the same colors! I'm happy to provide more guidance for your photo session specifically.

What time of day should we book our session?
Depending on the time of year (and daylight saving time), I recommend late afternoon/early evening for that gorgeous golden hour light! If that doesn't work with your schedule, we'll roll with it and I can make even bright sunlight work in certain locations!

Can we reschedule?
In case of REALLY bad weather (I’m talkin’ thunderstorms and unrelenting rain), yes; and of course in case of emergencies. Rescheduling depends on my availability, and things do book up (especially in the fall). If the weather is threatening scattered showers or sprinkling, I encourage going through with the session as scheduled. I keep clear bubble umbrellas around and they're SO CUTE in photos!

If you made it this far

You get to see an awkward photo of me and my cat, Beowulf.
