My goal this winter was to catch up on all the blogging, business development, and website stuff— and as a Louisville photographer, I thought that would be quite doable, since in my experience, most of my photoshoots in Louisville happen in the spring, summer, and fall… Well… that’s not what happened. I stayed busy with freelance work, personal projects, photoshoots with local models, and the like. Which is a long winded explanation for why it took me so long to post this blog from my session with Grace, a local model I photographed this mid-winter! We met at a locally owned coffeeshop and did a shoot right there, with various patrons looking on. Luckily, the coffeeshop goers didn’t mind, and we found a variety of interesting backdrops (I’m obsessed with that yellow wall and the mural outside), and great light to work with!
A couple weeks ago, Sarah commissioned me to do a painting of her! In order to get the reference for the painting, we shot some poses indoors and ended up getting some lovely portraits as well. I love shooting soft portraits like this.
Last month I shot a bunch of portraits of Victoria to test out new editing ideas and to practice with a new lens. Here are my favorites.
